Butter cake

I'm a cake lover! I love all kinds of cakes. I came across a recipe in my grandmother's cook book. My grandmother is an excellent baker and she had written down some of her famous recipes down for me. I will be sharing a simple recipe on how to make an easy and simple butter cake. I have not tried this recipe out for myself but my grandmother always makes it and it is really good:

Ingredients:

• 2   1/3  cups sugar 
• 1  1/2 cups butter 
• 1 tsp vanilla extract 
• 6 eggs 
• 1 tsp grated orange rind 
• 1/2 tsp baking powder 
• 1/2 tsp salt 
• 1 cup sour cream

Heat the oven at 350. Grease and flour the pan. Beat sugar and butter until fluffy and light. Beat vanilla extract the eggs in. In a bowl, combine flour, orange rind, salt and baking powder. Mix sour cream with dry ingredients. Bake for about an hour. Let it cool off. Dust icing sugar to garnish.
