There were fourteen of us campers, boys and girls, eager to escape the routine, sleep under the stars, share food, conversations, laughter, and, above all, enjoy one of those corners of Cuba that seem designed to remind us that you don't have to go far to have an adventure.
This time, our destination was Puerto Escondido. This landscape, carved from the living rock of the sea, is located about 90 kilometers from home, in the Mayabeque province.

We continue our journey through memories, words, and images to more of nature's wonders, because they always inspire us and fill us with awe. And there are places that are the very essence of vibrant, living nature, clearly evoking paradise. This would be the best way to describe one of the world's most breathtaking national parks, one I've already shared photos and impressions of, but I'm back with more, a few more to come, to at least offer us a virtual respite in this sweltering summer. My mind revisits the photos and suddenly, for a few moments, I feel the magic of memory. So let's remember, evoke, and share more of Iguazu National Park, on the natural border between Brazil and Argentina.

Continuing my tour of Puerto la Cruz鈥攖he modern city and metropolis of Anzo谩tegui State鈥攖oday I am stopping at Playa Colorada. This beautiful beach is located along the Cuman谩鈥揚uerto la Cruz highway and is part of the group of beaches that make up the national park Mochima; according to a local resident, the park extends as far as the city of Puerto la Cruz and includes other beaches near Paseo Col贸n. Playa Colorada stands out for its beautiful tropical palm trees and its intensely blue water, which invites you to cool off and enjoy these Caribbean waters.
