Hola mi genteeeee espero que se encuentren increíble en compañía de buenas vibras, tengo el grato placer de compartirles unas bellas fotos que tomé en mi última aventura, adivinen donde.... , así es, en el cerro del hotel Maracay. Espero que sean de su agrado y puedan disfrutar de estos hermosos paisajes tanto como yo tuve la oportunidad de hacerlo ❤️
I must confess that I had never climbed a hill before in my life. Honestly, I didn't like the idea at all, but one of the promises I made to myself for 2026 was to step out of my comfort zone, have new experiences, and above all, enjoy myself. So I embarked on the adventure, starting the hike around 9:30 in the morning (I should have started much earlier). The first stretch is killer.
Debo confesar que nunca en la vida había hecho esto de subir un cerro, auténticamente la idea no me gustaba del todo, pero una de las promesas que me hice para este año 2026 fue salir de mi zona de confort, vivir nuevas experiencias y sobre todo, disfrutar. Así que me lance a la aventura, iniciando la caminata a eso de las 9:30 de la mañana ( debí subir mucho más temprano), el primer tramo es matador.
Reaching the first station (the longest, most grueling, and most devastating of the three stations) was quite a challenge. Those with experience climbing this hill know that if you can make it to the first station, you can basically reach the container (the last station). Everything there is steep, the sun beats down directly on you, and this is where your body starts to adjust to the change and the sensations take their toll. After a few hours, you start to get the hang of it.
El llegar a la primera estación ( de todo el camino es la más larga, matadora y devastadora de las 3 estaciones) fue todo un desafío, quienes tienen experiencia subiendo este cerro saben que si eres capaz de llegar a la primera estación, básicamente puedes llegar al container (última estación), en ella todo es empinado, el sol te pega directamente, es aquí donde tu cuerpo se empieza a acostumbrar al cambio y las sensaciones te pasan factura, después de unas horas empiezas a encontrarle el tumbado al asunto.
By this point, having passed the first station, the second one felt like a breeze, and it was my favorite. You have the option of taking a shortcut, which is just one uphill stretch, but its best feature is its hilly feel. It was around 11, and thankfully, the clouds started to fill the landscape, so I climbed with a breeze, shade, and some awesome music. All the photos I took of the hill are among my favorites 😍 The peace you feel there is incomparable. I rested for about 20 minutes and continued to the third station (it's not that long, but since it's a spiral, it's quite tiring). By this point, I was exhausted, but I was so close to the container, so I decided to run it 🙂↕️.
Ya para este punto de haber pasado la primera estación, la segunda se me hizo un paseo, y fue mi favorita, ya que tienes la oportunidad de irte por un atajo, el cual consiste en un solo tramo de subida, pero la cualidad de el, es su estilo colina, ya eran como las 11 y gracias al cielo que las nubes empezaron a inundar el paisaje, así que subí con brisita, sombra y unas tremendas rolas. De mis favoritas, están todas las fotos que tomé de la colina 😍 la paz que se siente no tiene comparación absoluta con nada, descanse como 20 minutos y seguí hacia la 3 estación, (no es tan larga, pero como es en espiral, cansa bastante), ya aquí me sentía agotada pero estaba a nada de llegar al container así que decidí corrido 🙂↕️.
The view of the entire city is exquisite; you can observe the grandeur of the lake and how insignificant the rural areas near it look. The sheer scale of the lake's reach is impressive, not only towards Maracay but also towards other cities like Valencia. Everything looked beautiful, and even more so with the shadows of the clouds. Around noon, I arrived at the famous container, and you can't imagine the immense joy I felt at that moment. You feel overwhelmed, fulfilled in life, like nothing is impossible for you. Never in my life have I celebrated so much as in that moment of happiness. I commemorated it by eating a huge arepa with scrambled eggs and tomato; I swear it tasted heavenly.
La vista que se tiene de toda la cuidad es exquisita, puedes observar la grandeza del lago y lo insignificante que se ve las zonas rurales cerca de él. Es impresionante la magnitud del alcance del lago no solo con Maracay sino con otras ciudades como Valencia, todo se veía hermoso y con la sombra de las nubes mejor. Cómo a las 12 llegué al famoso container y no saben la alegría tan inmensa que sentía en ese momento, uno se siente superado, realizado en la vida, que no existe cosa imposible para ti, nunca en mi vida había brindado tanto como en ese momento de la felicidad, lo célebre comiéndome una areepotaaaaaaa de reboltillo de huevo con tomate, les juro que sabía a gloria.
In section 3, everything changes completely; the ground is quite different, it's sandy, so you have to be extremely careful going up, but even more so going down, since one wrong move can cause you to slip and fall. That was one of the biggest challenges for me: being careful going down and holding on to the rocks, since some were loose and there were sections where the rocks were very steep towards the path and could break loose at any moment. Here you can see the view from the very top of the container; it's definitely an exceptional view and you can appreciate all the details of the city ❤️
En el tramo 3, todo cambia por completo; el suelo es bastante diferente, es arenoso, por lo que hay que tener muchísimo cuidado al subir, pero aún más al bajar, ya que un mal movimiento puede hacer que resbales y ruedes. Ese fue uno de los grandes desafíos para mí: el cuidado al descender y al sostenerse en las piedras, ya que algunas se movían y había tramos en los cuales las rocas estaban muy empinadas hacia el camino y en cualquier momento podían desprenderse. Aquí pueden observar cómo es el paisaje en toda la punta del container definitivamente que es una vista excepcional y uno puede apreciar todos los detalles de la ciudad ❤️
