Welcome to my #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay. Took a walk around the lake and looked for things that felt like they represented the lake or summer vibe - like this dock set up for morning coffee.
Here's another nice dock facing east and the sunrise. Even if the sunrise is behind some clouds this morning.
What's summertime at the lake without random critters? this groundhog hustled across the road then turned around and checked me out from its hiding spot under an old cabin. Small furry, forest creatures always #makemesmile.
And of course, the obligatory nautical themed touches - like this flagpole with yardarm.
Can't have a lake in Vermont without vacation homes. Many with horseshoe pits.
Horseshoes at the ready on the mast/flagpole 馃檪
Not sure what's going on here. Forgotten squash? So many squash they are stashed everywhere? an ambitious squirrel harvesting squash? 馃ぃ
Often there is free produce left out along the lake road or at least zuchinni and squash 馃檮
We have been obsessing on Monarch butterflies this summer. We collected some caterpillars and were fortunate enough to see them through all the way to butterflies. Seems like a summer camp science activity. I noticed some of the milkweed seedpods are popping open 馃憤 Good for next years Monarchs.
Fun lake/country yard decor. Neglected old piece of farm equipment. Re-purposed as a planter. Then neglected again lol
Here's an owl enjoying the sunrise and a bench if you want to join it. Full disclosure: the owl is a decoy.
Finally, one more sunrise photo. It stayed cloudy all morning but always a good day for a walk at the lake no matter the weather 馃檪
All photos original. All photos taken at Lake Dunmore, Addison County, Vermont 2022.
