Hello Foodies
How are you all? I hope you are doing well. Today, I am back with a new recipe to share with you.
Today, I am going to share my homemade chicken salami recipe, which is also similar to chicken sausages. I saw this recipe on someone else's YouTube channel and really liked it. So, I decided to try it at home for my children's lunchbox sandwiches and other snacks.
The result was really good, so I thought I should share this recipe with all of you. It is homemade and can be used in sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and many other dishes.
Ingredients
2 kg minced chicken
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp salt
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
4 tbsp desi ghee
3 tbsp vinegar, or as needed
2 chicken cubes
4 tbsp cornflour
2 eggs
Oil for greasing the cups
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Mixture
First, take the minced chicken in a large bowl. I used 2 kg of minced chicken because I wanted to make a larger quantity. You can adjust the quantity according to your needs.
Add onion powder, garlic powder, red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, and desi ghee. Then add vinegar according to your taste and the quantity of chicken. I used about 3 tablespoons.
Mix all the ingredients well. Now add the chicken cubes. You can also use chicken powder if you have it available.Add the cornflour and eggs, then mix everything thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined.
Step 2: Marinate the Mixture
After mixing everything, cover the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for 24 hours. This allows the chicken mixture to marinate properly and absorb the flavours of the spices.
Step 3: Fill the Cups
After 24 hours, take the chicken mixture out of the refrigerator.Take glass, heat-safe ceramic, or stainless-steel cups and grease them well with oil. Make sure the cups are suitable for steaming.
Now fill the cups with the marinated chicken mixture. Press the mixture firmly with a spoon so that there are no air pockets inside and the salami holds its shape properly.
Step 4: Steam the Chicken Salami
Take a large pot, add water, and bring it to a boil. Place the filled cups in a steamer or on a suitable steaming rack, making sure the cups do not sit directly in the water.
Cover the pot and steam the chicken mixture for about 25 minutes, or until it is fully cooked. Since I used a large quantity of chicken, the cooking time may vary depending on the size of your cups.Make sure the centre of the chicken salami reaches a safe internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
Step 5: Remove and Slice
Once the chicken salami is cooked, carefully remove the cups from the pot and let them cool enough to handle.Gently loosen the sides and remove the salami from the cups. If you have greased them properly, it should be easier to take the salami out.
Now cut it into round slices, just like chicken salami. You can also cut it into small pieces according to your needs.
How I Use Homemade Chicken Salami
I made small pieces because my younger son loves sausage pizza. He does not like pizza with ordinary chicken cubes, so I prefer to prepare it this way for him.
You can use this homemade chicken salami in sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and many other snacks. It is a convenient option to prepare at home and use in different recipes.
I really liked how it turned out, and it was a lovely addition to my homemade recipes. If you try this recipe, please share your experience with me in the comments. I would love to know how it turned out for you.
Thank you so much for your love and support.
