Before that, there was a nasty storm that caused a massive blackout across the entire province—lasting over two days in some areas. It’s a disgrace for Italy in 2026: whole families, including the elderly and the sick, left without power for days. Fortunately, the new provincial councilor stepped in, arranging for generators to be installed and sending teams to the flooded areas. Luckily, I didn't face any major issues here; in fact, the following days brought light rain that finally lowered the temperatures. I was finally able to go for a peaceful walk and even managed to photograph a rainbow. The cooler temperatures were a blessing—we could finally turn off the air conditioning and sleep better. After so long, I was able to sleep under just a sheet again! It was wonderful!

When the rain came, we were all able to relax a bit more; for lunch that day, we had a nice roast chicken—the kind you can buy ready-made at the local supermarket; it’s cheap, delicious, and crispy. As a side dish, I made turmeric beans—simple, but a favorite of mine. In the evening, we got ready-made pizzas—a Margherita and a Capricciosa. Hooray for pizza, though homemade is obviously better! Then, as you can see, my husband and the cat both crashed on the sofa; they looked so cute together—my "men," finally asleep in the cool air. Anyway, we really needed that rain; the scorching August heat was becoming unbearable!
