Hello, how are you? Sometimes, when we try some food suggested by my cousin and he likes it whenever he craves it, he always buys the ingredients and asks me to cook it. I've cooked this dish before, and to my surprise, he likes it now that he is an adult.

When cooking Ginisang black beans, you will need hours to cook it if you cook it without soaking it in water overnight, but if you do, it will only take an hour to be tender along with the meat.

This is one of our comfort foods, and I think any beans are healthy.

Ingredients I Used:

  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • Half Kilo Pork
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4 Garlic
  • Red Onion
  • 2 tbsp. Fish Sauce
  • Chicken Broth Cube
  • 2 l of Hot Water
  • Malunggay Leaves

Let's Cook!

In a hot pot, I pour in two tablespoons of cooking oil, then add the meat. I highly recommend using pork with fat.

I like to brown each side of the pork because it will add a unique taste to the broth later, and I like to sprinkle just a little salt and pepper to season it.

Add the aromatics like garlic and red onion and then sauté them for about a minute or until the aroma comes out.

Add two tablespoons of fish sauce to the pan and let it seep into the meat for extra flavor.

Add the black beans that have been soaked overnight.

Add two litres of hot water for an easy boil, and then I added chicken broth cube to add flavor to the broth. Boil for an hour with the lid on until everything is tender. I added the malunggay leaves and just cooked it for a minute.

Serve hot and plated.

Here is a bite for you.

Happy eating!
