My Actifit Report Card: November 21 2021

Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!

We headed out to church today and on the way found a little water over the roadway in one spot. It wasn’t too deep too drive through so off we went.

Upon arriving, the first picture is what you see at the church entrance. This is what you see upon entering.

If you are in need of it, it can be found here. You can shop and there is no cashier; no charge. All items have been graciously donated and are free for the taking. There are so many who have lost everything. Of 300 homes alone in just Sumas, only 75 had flood insurance. Those 75 homes are on hold until insurance adjusters make their way to assess the dollar amounts for the losses.

Church was a bit different today; no sound system; no words for the songs and no real sermon beyond a reading of a Psalm. Instead, everyone shared their story of their experience during the flood and their losses. There were some sad and also some funny accounts of those events. This is the total coming together of theses communities and the love of God. Many folks being His hands and His feet; united to lift one another up.

Afterwards, we headed out into the ‘store’ and spoke with our retired pastor and a few others before heading back to Everson to move fans again at the clinic.

The clinic is slowly drying, but there are areas of carpet underneath displays that can’t be gotten to without a major disassemble. We moved the fans around to the wetter areas and I took the newly arrived laptop electrical cable to see it I’d made the right choice. It works, thank goodness, which means I’m in business once again! 😁

We set out for a hike in mid afternoon. This is the first real hike since last week. Jan commented on how it seems like forever, lol. The previous picture was towards Bellingham Bay with the sun masked by some clouds. It was beautiful!

Up here, other than looking out across the valley and seeing what looks like large puddles from that perspective, you would never guess the events of this chaotic past week. It was a slice of normalcy I think we all three needed.

And just as we were rounding the bend for home, this was my view.

Simply beautiful!

Tomorrow will find me roasting coffee for one of my customers and getting that ready to mail. They are calling for rain as well so hiking is up in the air until we see how that turns out.

@actifit-lamb is worried with all this talk about floods and is currently cruising Amazon looking for a blowup boat in case she needs it. I’ve tried telling her not to worry because we live too high up in the hills, but she’s looking to be prepared!

Take care everybody and have a blessed evening! 👣🐑🛶🤗🙏☕️😎☔️😴
