Hello, hello dear friends of this beautiful and dear community, I wish you a beautiful and wonderful Wednesday full of positive energy and remember to always believe in yourself.
Today I bring you to share a delicious dessert very popular in my country Venezuela and whose recipe we have inherited from generation to generation I learned to make it with my maita (grandmother) although this is a modified version because she made it with cariaco corn which she put to roast and then passed it through the mill this dessert brings me so many good memories well my loves without further ado I tell you that this delicious dessert is called Majarete de Coco which is like a flan of a nice flavor and a delicious creaminess.
Join me once again in my kitchen to make it, not before telling you the ingredients I used.
Ingredients.
- 1 coconut.
- 2 cups of corn flour
- 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- A piece of papelón or panela.
- 3 cinnamon sticks.
- 3 cloves.
- 1 tablespoon of aniseed.
- 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 2 tablespoons of cinnamon powder.
- 8 cup of water.
This recipe yields 9 servings.
After having all the ingredients ready, let's move on to the preparation.
Preparation.
- To extract the coconut milk the first thing we do is to break the coconut and extract the water, then remove it from the shell, chop it into small pieces and take it to the blender, add a cup of hot water, then strain it.
- Pour the coconut milk in a pot and put it on the stove, add the cinnamon sticks, the cloves, the aniseed, and the sugar cane or panela, let it cook over low heat until the sugar cane or panela dissolves.
- Once dissolved, add the sugar and salt, mix well to dissolve and then remove from the heat and strain, the smell given off by the spices is very delicious.
- We add little by little the corn flour and the water, then we stir constantly so that our mixture does not become lumpy, when it begins to thicken we add part of the coconut that we strain to give it a special touch.
- We continue stirring and when we see that it makes some bubbles we remove from the fire.
- This is a dessert that can be eaten hot or cold.
If you want to eat it hot, pour it immediately into individual containers. - I poured it in a large mold and a portion in the coconut shell then I added cinnamon powder on top and let it cool.
- Once cold proceed to chop and serve, we can appreciate the pieces of coconut that when you bite it you can feel that nice texture on your palate.
Infinite blessings and thank you for taking your time and joining me in this magical moment in my kitchen, I hope you like it and I encourage you to make it and do not forget to comment.
