How is it possible that I didn't realize it until now? How is it possible that I have spent so much time being two people in one, and I haven't noticed it? Because there is no longer any doubt in my mind that it is so. I know it seems a bit unbelievable, but the evidence I have is irrefutable. Let me tell you about it.

It all started one day when, after work, as I normally do, I came home, had dinner, took my shower, as I always do logically, and finally, after that day of exhausting work, I went to rest. I wasn't sad, I wasn't upset, nor did I feel any other negative feelings when I went to sleep. And suddenly it happened, when I woke up, as if it were someone else, I woke up grumpy, irritable to the max, and immersed in a deep sadness.

I hadn't even gotten out of bed and everything was already bothering me. The very idea of getting up to take a shower, get on the bus and go to work was so irritating to my mood that I couldn't describe it in words. And I love my job, well, at least I do, whom from now on I will call "Me", because apparently the "Second Me" doesn't like working at all. In fact, it doesn't like a lot of things. It is as if he is annoyed with everyone, even with life.

Yes, dear reader, as you can see, I have decided to name each of my "I's", so it is easier to describe each one and easier to understand who I am and how I feel one way or another.

Well, after forcing my Second Self to get out of bed, take a shower and get ready, I headed to work. I must say this was one of the worst days of my life. I didn't quite understand how to do my job well, which in turn annoyed others, and ultimately increased the annoyance I already felt since the morning, well, not "Me", but my "Second Me".

After several bad moments, the work day was over. On my way back home I stopped by a store and bought some chocolate. They say it's very good for improving mood, although with how grumpy my "Second Me" is, I didn't have much hope. Finally, after dinner, I managed to feel a little better, maybe because it's time to sleep. And at least one thing my "I's" have in common is that they love to rest.

It was difficult at first to figure out which of my "I's" went outside each day, which caused me a lot of frustration, but now it's a little easier. I have a foolproof technique for figuring out which one of us has won the nightly battle, and earned the right to appear for all to see the next morning. This is the trick: I get up, go to the bathroom and, right at that moment, if I feel like taking a bath, then I am "Me", and if not, then I know that it is the "Second Me" who has won, and I also understand that I have a very complicated day ahead of me.

At least I can already recognize them, now I just need to know how to make "I" win every day, or at least most of the time. It is a difficult job, because many times I myself do not manage to understand my feelings. For now I have a hypothesis: during the night "I" and the "Second I" face each other, and the winner is the one who goes out on the street the next day. It makes sense, doesn't it?

The worst thing is that my body has no interference in that battle that night after night happens inside me, more specifically in my mind. I'm just the host for "Me" and the "Second Me." Also, I wish I could say that it is "I" who writes these ideas. I would like that very much because it would mean that I am recognizing a problem and closer to solving it, but the truth is that I don't know for sure, I am not yet able to tell, and I am afraid that maybe it is the "Second Me" who is teasing me with these lines. I don't know, but it is very possible that I will soon find out.
