I competed in the 3 hour solo trail run division of the Black Hills Super 6 race up on the local Big Hill Trail network this morning under clear skies and moderate temperatures with a bunch of other running and biking "nuts" 馃榿馃榿馃榿.
I wasn't expecting a great result as I'm still lacking endurance and I'm in the middle of another long fast (and my result was just 2 hours and 4 laps which was ok by my current standards). I also wasn't going to trash my legs on what was, essentially, a trail workout.

I had no plan to consume any foods and didn't really need any fluids with the milder temperatures. I started off at a relaxed pace around the initial easy loop before the more difficult winding single track began to wind up towards the apex of the trail.
alt
The footing was tricky in a lot of spots as the center of the narrow trail was often a deeper rut which made it easy to get tripped up (and I did have a decent spill on a particularly steep section on the second lap).
The ascents added up to around 300 feet of climb over the 5 km or so lap and the climbs really taxed my thighs and had me power walking several times..
I managed 3 fairly good laps before my legs really began to tire and I struggled over my final 4th lap before wrapping up this year's effort.
Overall not that good but it's my longest run in the past year so now it's time to keep on pushing my endurance while fasting and tightening my diet to really improve my health and metabolism (down 20 pounds in 2 months 馃憤馃憤馃憤.
