Today was one of those days where the step count tells its own story before I even sit down to write about it. Between a full gym session and a solid stretch on the pickleball courts, my legs are done — but in the best way.
Started the day with a mix of weightlifting and cardio. Hit the usual rotation — some compound lifts to keep the strength base solid, followed by time on the elliptical to get the heart rate up without hammering the joints. Threw in a bit of rowing too, since it’s become one of my favorite ways to combine cardio with a full-body pump. The gym had its usual cast of characters milling around — always good material for later reflection, tarot-wise or otherwise.
The real step-count driver, though, was pickleball. There’s nothing quite like the mix of quick lateral movement, reflex volleys, and the occasional all-out sprint to the kitchen line. It’s cardio disguised as fun, which is honestly the best kind. A few good rallies, a few humbling misses, and a lot of laughs with the regulars at the drop-in session.
25,149 steps today — well past my usual baseline, and a nice reminder of how much movement sneaks in when you stack a gym session on top of a sport that keeps you constantly on your toes.
Red light therapy session planned for later to help the legs bounce back, plus an early night. Tomorrow’s another day to keep the streak going.
