The days after my long drive had me out on the road and trails with a long 9 and a half run - things are really progressing nicely.
It was an easy flat, then gentle descent into Old Cottonwood before heading out onto the Jail Trail that runs along the river. It was great to run along the big cottonwood trees and damp landscape and the soft dirt was good for my old legs.
I did manage to hit a hidden hole and take a tumble but the lack of rocks meant no damage done and I was up in a second.
Of course it was a tedious mile climb on the busy streets back to home but I'm happy my miles are getting easier.
Off to Flagstaff tomorrow for a few hours and a hike up the Lowell Observatory mesa trail.
