Do you like persimmon? Oh, it's my passion! And my son's as well:) we can eat it all day long, and a persimmon diet - sounds nice;))
But...not all persimmons are sweet and soft. Ther are some kinds of them that have high aspirity, and they aren't so tasty and sweet.
Actually, in the market we can just touch and define what kind it is, but....
Some days ago my hubby's mother gave us a lot of persimmons, and they all were very hard! Their aspirity was crasy! I was waiting for some days, and nothing changed - hard as well.
And then...I discovered a great and fast way to make them sweet and soft just for 1 day!
Do you know this lifehack??
We must use our....freezer!
We put persimmons there and freese them well. Then we defrost them, and....they are VERY sweet without any aspirity!!
How does it work?
Persimmon contains an astringent element - tannin. After freezing, this astringent element disintegrates and the taste of persimmon is sweet and non-astringent.
A miracle of nature;)
Now all my persimmons are always tasty:)
