Well hello there Hive friends. Once again I find myself in a position where I've not been very active on the platform. I've found myself trying to avoid tech for a short while or trying to relax with books and alike. I've also finished one job and completed week one of a new one.
I've been conciously trying to be better to myself over what has been a fairly stressy period and have sort of succeeded. I've probably had a glass or wine (or three) too many but have been eating better and more importantly sleeping better. I didn't realise how badly my body has been craving sleep ... odd as my body doesn't generally let me sleep.
I tend to wake early (before 5am) and really struggle to get back to sleep. I've been forcing myself a little more recently though and have slowly found it easier to get to sleep again. I'm moving on from 5 - 6 hours average during the week to 7 - 9 hours.
Oddly, with sleeping better I've found it easier to get up and be motivated. I'm heading to bed earlier and so have been giving myself enough time to both have a jog in the morning and walk the dog befor the wife heads off to work. I've restarted couch to 5k ... again. but have been heading out more often.
Much of the UK woke up to snow this morning but we managed to avoid it here on the east coast. It was however -2, jolly icy with an icy mist to add. It made running (not that I can call it running) a little tricky but I managed a few miles without falling on my backside. One thing I struggle with on my runs is that we live on a hill. The first half is great but heading home is a little challenging with my current level of fitness. Hopefully I'll start to notice some positive improvements soon.
