I was surprised it was brought to me by my wife (she doesn鈥檛 support my beer blogs ... because when I wrote the first few posts, she didn鈥檛 mind it, but after over a 150 posts she doesn鈥檛 like it at all :)) ... but still, it's not always so bad, the bottle is 0.75 l and has 7.0% ABV ...

Chimay Premiere
Brewed by Abbaye de Scourmont, Chimay, Belgium. It's Dubbel style... and the Ratebeer definition is:
The Belgian Dubbel, also known as Trappist Dubbel, is a deep reddish-copper, moderately strong, malty, complex ale with rich malty flavors, dark or dried fruit esters, and light alcohol blended together in a malty presentation that still finishes fairly dry. Should not be as malty as a bock and should not have crystal malt-type sweetness. Similar in strength and balance as a Belgian Blonde Ale, but with a richer malt and ester profile. Less strong and intense as a Belgian Dark Strong Ale.

The beer is brown in color, strong foam. The first sip was careful (because it has a lot of alcohol), the sweetness of the malt appeared immediately, followed by the taste of caramel, tropical fruit and slightly hot. Very drinkable but I miss the bitterness of hops that is out of nowhere ...
A typical Belgian beer. Very good, drinkable, but as I mentioned, I鈥檓 from a different cultural background, I don鈥檛 feel the bitter hops in the beer and it won鈥檛 go in my fridge.
Well, I even drank a bottle. :)
