After yesterdayโs long run I was looking for an excuse to go outside and enjoy the weather again! As my wife was planning to go to the gym this evening and she pretty hesitant to drive when there is so much snow and ice, I found my excuse and offered to check how slippery the roads are!
I went for a relaxed recovery pace, keeping my heartbeat low and just enjoying the snow! It was quite a bit colder compared to yesterday the views were worth it!
My right hamstring was acting up a little over the last two weeks. Therefore I was very happy that while I did feel it at the start, it went completely to the background after roughly 2 km. This means that it is just an irritation and not a significant injury! My focus on zone 1 and 2 runs will continue to speed up the recovery so I feel confident to be fully ready well in time for the Coast Marathon next month!
While my wife will go to the gym this evening, tomorrow it will be difficult to drive in my area as there is very heavy weather expected next two days. This is unfortunate as I was planning to go for a beach run tomorrow and on Wednesday I had a hill session scheduled near Utrecht. But safety first, so I will find nice routes closer to my house!
Happy running!
