If you’re in the mood for a snack, you’ll probably reach for cookies or nuts. I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t like nuts, especially when they’re fried until crispy and savory—they’re definitely a delicious snack to enjoy anywhere.
Fried yellow soybeans are one idea for making a simple version of fried nuts at home as a snack. Well, the inspiration to make these fried yellow soybeans came after my husband brought home a package of them yesterday. After trying a few, they tasted really good and savory, had a crispy texture, and were a real treat to enjoy while relaxing.
The process is also quite easy, using just a few simple ingredients you likely have at home. Anyone can definitely make them.
200 grams of soybeans
3 cloves of garlic
2 kaffir lime leaves
¼ teaspoon of mushroom bouillon
½ teaspoon of salt
Soak the soybeans for 6 to 7 hours until soft, then drain them until dry. Once dry, season with salt and mushroom broth, and let it marinate in the salt and mushroom broth.
Then add sliced garlic and kaffir lime leaves; if you prefer, you can also mince the garlic.
Next, fry them in plenty of hot oil until golden brown. Be sure to fry them over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Then drain and let them cool. This ensures the peanuts cook evenly and become crispy. Let them cool completely on paper towels or in a colander.
Look at the results—they’re so beautiful, incredibly crispy, and savory. They’re absolutely perfect—we can polish them off in just a matter of minutes while we’re relaxing. The beans are crispy, and even though their color has changed slightly, they’re still quite crispy and not hard.
What I like most about this combination is that the nuts are seasoned, and when you eat them, you can really taste the savory, salty flavor. So, for those of you who have soybeans, try making this simple snack—I’m sure you’ll love it!
