Today I want to talk to you about a nice topic for me. Which of you has the advent calendar?
I can not wait for the first month to arrive in December 25 , I love the calendar, thank you God it exist, i have two calendars one composed of chocolates and the other from make up products!
The first came six days and I already ate six chocolates and used a new fragrance, renewed a lipstick and an eyeshadow!
Here is a picture of my calendar below.
The calendars of the advent in the modern era are many and made with the most disparate materials.
They also contain the most disparate gifts, food, beauty products, games, etc. ..
But what is the purpose of this calendar?
The advent consists in the period of waiting for the birth of Jesus, December 25, a period that is used to contemplate the future coming of the Lord in meditation and prayer, the calendar was invented precisely to deceive the expectation of this event.
You do not know the exact origins but it seems to be a northern European tradition of the early 900, where to count the days that were missing at Christmas were made bags filled with treats, biscuits or the like to consume day by day, starting from the first in December or in less recent times starting from the first Sunday of Advent.
The first calendars, were not real calendars but bags or sachets, filled with simple little gifts or for the most devoted with phrases of the sacred texts, later the habit of creating cards with the numbers written above, called precisely calendars .
To date, there are many versions of it, and do-it-yourself advent calendars also proliferate.
This tradition is still alive even if it is no longer experienced as in the past and today it is very commercialized.
Many calendars sell products of all kinds, to combine tradition, desire for surprises and usefulness.
The calendar was intended primarily for children, a game waiting for Christmas, every day a small prize.
And I who am a child inside I buy one every year, even if I confess to skip the part dedicated to recollection and prayer.
