A few days ago, I met up with a group of friends I used to play Dungeons and Dragons with after a long time. We decided to have lunch together at a Japanese restaurant in Pistoia, Sakura. It's not the first time I've been there, but it's been a while since I've been back, and honestly, unfortunately, I've seen some deteriorations, which I'll tell you about, but there are also the usual positives. The place, as you can see, has a very cute and simple oriental-style decor, with various anime-style and Japanese-style images. The tables are also simple, and like almost all restaurants, the menus are now QR code-based, plus a few sheets with the weekly specials. This wasn't something they used to do, but now they do, and I like the fact that there are also special dishes off the menu. Anyway, there were five of us, and we decided to order various items, many of which we shared. We had the seaweed that everyone likes, the simple vegetarian hossomaki that also practically everyone likes and in fact they sold out quickly.

Hace unos días, me reuní con un grupo de amigos con los que solía jugar Dungeons and Dragons después de mucho tiempo. Decidimos almorzar juntos en un restaurante japonés en Pistoia, Sakura. No es la primera vez que voy, pero hacía tiempo que no volvía, y honestamente, lamentablemente, he notado algunos deterioros, de los que les hablaré, pero también tiene sus cosas positivas. El lugar, como pueden ver, tiene una decoración oriental muy linda y sencilla, con varias imágenes de estilo anime y japonés. Las mesas también son sencillas, y como en casi todos los restaurantes, los menús ahora son con código QR, además de algunas hojas con las especialidades de la semana. Esto no era algo que hicieran antes, pero ahora sí, y me gusta que también haya platos especiales fuera del menú. En fin, éramos cinco, y decidimos pedir varios platos, muchos de los cuales compartimos. Teníamos las algas que gustan a todo el mundo, los sencillos hossomaki vegetarianos que también gustan prácticamente a todo el mundo y, de hecho, se agotaron rápidamente.
We then ordered various types of ravioli, from shao mai to steamed ravioli filled with pork and beef. We didn't like almost all of the ravioli; they seemed precooked and not very good quality. We then ordered various nigiri, and these too, in my opinion, no longer had the same quality as before. The same thing happened with the sashimi; the salmon seemed much more stringy and stringy than usual. We ordered more simple fried uramaki with crab and salmon; those were good, but everything is good when fried. Then I ordered lemon shrimp, a dish I usually enjoy, but this time they were literally immersed in lemon, drowned. Overall, I was very disappointed by the decline in the quality of the dishes at this restaurant, but luckily I was in good company, and that's what matters. Another negative point? The quality has gone down, but the prices have gone up. Is this a result of inflation? Who knows, I don't think I'll be eating here again anytime soon.
Luego pedimos varios tipos de ravioles, desde shao mai hasta ravioles al vapor rellenos de cerdo y ternera. Casi ninguno nos gustó; parecían precocidos y de mala calidad. Después pedimos varios nigiri, y estos también, en mi opinión, ya no tenían la misma calidad de antes. Lo mismo ocurrió con el sashimi; el salmón parecía mucho más fibroso y quebradizo de lo habitual. Pedimos más uramaki frito sencillo con cangrejo y salmón; estaban buenos, pero todo está rico frito. Luego pedí gambas al limón, un plato que suelo disfrutar, pero esta vez estaban literalmente sumergidas en limón, ahogadas. En general, me decepcionó mucho el descenso en la calidad de los platos de este restaurante, pero por suerte estaba en buena compañía, y eso es lo que importa. ¿Otro punto negativo? La calidad ha bajado, pero los precios han subido. ¿Será por la inflación? Quién sabe, no creo que vuelva a comer aquí pronto.
