Today’s lower body workout consisted of 3 exercises. I also did some stretching and mobility work.

Goblet Squat holding 47.5 lb dumbbell

I made it to 20 reps on the first set so I guess you could say I did the old school 20 rep squat program right. Holding the nearly 50 pound dumbbell during the squats tired my arms out as much as my legs especially since I did pullups and pushups yesterday.

20, 15, 12
<- total of 47 reps

Lunges holding 12.5 lb dumbbells

I don’t want to go to failure or go too heavy on the lunges because it is not a big power move as there is a lot of balance involved. So I think there is a risk of falling or injuring myself if I pushed too hard on these. I also want to keep good therapeutic posture on these which means keeping my back straight and relatively perpendicular to the floor although many people do them in a more athletic stance leaning forward.

Calf Raises holding 22.5 lb dumbbells

<- total of 68 reps

Workout time: 40 mins.
Total reps: 47 + 30 + 68 = 145 total reps

Every workout I now participate in the daily 100 rep challenge hosted by steemmatt@steemmatt
