The Goblet Squat: This is another workout I do for the legs and for my entire lower body because of how injurious the regular squat can be despite one's (not just me but most lifters) best efforts at keeping to form and technique.
I still do the regular squats because they are still quite a very important exercise, but I try to do them as few times as I can and then I go on to further my lower-body workout with other variations of squats and leg exercises that are more forgiving.
The goblet squat involves holding a dumbbell or kettlebell close to your chest while squatting down and then coming back up just like I'm doing in the video. Very simple as you can see. The adjustment of holding the weight in front makes the exercise feel very different from the regular barbell squat. Because the weight is held in front of the body, it encourages you to keep your spine more upright and it makes it easier to focus on your form, balance, and technique.
