Reincorporándose los corredores para el entrenamiento largo🙌🏻🏃🏻🙏🏻
Saludos y Bendiciones Runners.
ENGLISH VERSION
Greetings and blessings, runners.
Sunday is the day for our long group training session—it’s when the team gets back together, since during the week everyone has different training schedules due to work and family commitments. As you know, we’re not elite athletes; we have to work and take care of our families, while also training, since it’s our outlet for dealing with worries, problems, and depression—not to mention the health benefits it provides.
Today I was surprised—you can tell the summer break is coming to an end, because when I arrived at the meeting spot for our Sunday run, there were more runners than usual. Many have already returned from vacation, and classes start again on Monday. It felt good to jog with almost the entire group—though the most important person is missing: my husband, who’s still dealing with knee pain, on top of his work commitments.
We continued working on the 15-kilometer run on a different route to help my body adapt to this distance. It went better than the last 15-kilometer run I did—I felt less tired. The average pace was 7:26 min/km. I kept my heart rate under control, balancing it with how I felt, since I was comfortable with the pace we maintained. We even talked almost the whole way, which was a good way to check that I was in Zone 2. Along the way, a runner from another team joined us; he was running alone and decided to run with us. We’re all one big family—almost all of us runners in the area know each other.
We had wonderful weather today, and we really enjoyed being together again—almost all of us. Some are heading to Caracas Rock; unfortunately, we won’t be able to attend this year. Well, everything has its time and place—we’ll keep up with our training.
