Hello Players and Friends,
It is my pleasure to announce Season 24 of MAcFiT. Rules and format are the same as in the last couple of seasons. Details follow below.
Format
The tournament is based on Hive account@actifit reports for Match Days (schedule follows below). 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Scores are based on reported Step Counts:
Score = [StepCount / 1000]
(Scores are rounded to the nearest integer, 0.5 rounds up to 1)
League Stage
The format is modelled on UEFA Champions League. 28 players will play in one large league. However, rather than the typical 'round robin' mode, each player will play only 7 matches.
Pairs have been determined by a seeding system (see pots below). Each player seeded as #1 in their pot, will play all 7 players seeded as #4. Logically it follows that seeded as #2 will play against all players seeded as #3.
Playoffs
After 7 Match Days, the top 8 players will advance directly to the Playoffs, Round of 16 and will be seeded there. Players ranked in places 9-24, will play an additional Knock-out round and its winners will join the R16.
All Playoffs rounds are one match only. If a match ends in a draw, the League Stage order is the tie-breaker

Standings
The table order is determined by:
points,
total score ("For" column in the standings table)
If 2 or more players are equal as per above criteria, the position in the Hive account@macfit ranking before the season will be the tie-breaker. For not ranked players, the position achieved in Qualifications will be taken into account
Walk-overs
Failure to post a report for a Match Day means a walk over (3 points to the oponent). 3 walk-overs in the League Stage result in elimination from the tournament.
