Weekend with sweet and sour beef to clean my mind from busy weekday. It's not only fish that are good in sweet and sour sauce, but beef as well. I actually love sweet and sour beef rather than fish, so does my husband. I bet if we are creative and willing to take any change, then just go with what we think it will be good to serve.
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time 15 minutes
Ingredients:
8 oz tender beef
1 cup of sliced fresh pine apple
1 medium size red bell pepper-wash and cut
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 cup of cornstarch
Oil to fry
For the sauce:
1/8 cup tomato ketchup
3/4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 tbsp pure pine apple
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tbsp water
Method:
In a bowl, dissolve a teaspoon of cornstarch into a tbsp water, then mix it with all the ingredients for the sauce. Set aside.
Wash the beef and thinly slice, then marinate with 2 teaspoons soy sauce. Roll the marinated beef into the cornstarch and fry into a hot oil until it's brown.
In medium heat, cook the bell pepper until it's tender but still have crunchy texture. Add the pineapple and beef, turn down the heat and add the sweet and sour sauce. Simmer for a little bit until the sauce thicken. Add pinch of salt if you prefer.
serve with some rice or fried noodles.
