Hi friends. Who are we apart from our ability to focus? At one time (not so long ago), I heard this question in a slightly different formulation: "Who is a person apart from the ability to focus his attention?" from a domestic yoga guru. This is the question that, at the right time, helps me stop. To stop when I step back on the "path of my samsara"
Caught myself in another attempt to start addictive activities (computer games), I thought twice and decided that I had already lived through the period when these games were relevant. Now is a new stage of life, and you have to make a choice, taking responsibility for your choice. No matter how much I want to hide and not make decisions, I have already lived through the stage when I did not notice such attempts to escape from addiction problems (movies, anime, games). Maybe there will come a time when I will still train the ability to willful decisions and focus on these addictions, but not at this stage of life.
Walking in thought near the Lotus, I saw the phrase depicted on the Skubayev monument: "One who sits on a tiger cannot dismount." Interesting saying. He caught me alive. I googled a little and found the book of the same name "One who sits on a tiger cannot dismount." - https://flibusta.org.ua/b/268162/download/?format=fb2.zip. This expression perfectly illustrates that when a person has already worked something out, returning to his "previous self" already begins to cause discomfort and the understanding that one wants much more...
Oh yes, I almost forgot about the photo. The photos were taken by me during a walk in Yunist Park. They may not be very relevant to the topic of the post, but the post is relevant to me)))
