Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. I’m delighted to be able to show you how to make this delicious guava jam. This fruit is in season this month and we’ve been making the most of it by making juices and slushies, but right now I’m pleased to share my method for making jam with you.
The best thing about this recipe is that it’s very easy to make, as you only need a few ingredients. Without further ado, here are the ingredients used.
1
Wash the guavas thoroughly and then cut them into small pieces, halving them first.
2
Next, place the fruit in a saucepan, add water and the cloves. Leave to simmer for approximately 20 minutes.
3
Once it has cooled for about 15 minutes, pour the contents into a blender and add just enough of the guava syrup to cover a quarter of the mixture.
4
Once blended, strain the mixture to remove the fruit seeds. You should also add sugar to the mixture.
5
Next, pour the mixture into a saucepan and stir it slowly over a low heat until the mixture darkens and becomes thicker and more viscous. In my case, I managed to make the jam in about 20 minutes over a low heat.
6
As it cooks, the jam gradually thickens and darkens to become like this. I also added a little lemon to give the jam a more citrusy flavour, but only half of it.
Thank you very much for stopping by to read this! I’m delighted to have achieved such a great – and, above all, delicious – result. We can use this for pancakes or biscuits.
This is the final result of my jam. Thank you very much for your support; I hope you like it. Best wishes!
