Cachapa with Pork Chop and Llanera Butter, Cooked Over a Wood Fire
Hello, my dear friends at Hie! I hope you’re all doing great. I’m happy to be here in this space that always gives us the pleasure of exploring different cuisines from around the world. Today, I want to give you the chance to appreciate this meal we made as a family outdoors. It’s a very popular and culturally significant dish in our country: the cachapa. A cachapa is made from freshly ground tender corn. We also prepared pork chops with Llanera butter—all cooked over a wood fire, which gives it an even more delicious flavor!
I definitely hope you like it!
Ingredients:
- Dough made from freshly ground tender corn for cachapa
- Sugar
- Salt
- Milk
- Pork chops
- Llanera butter
- Oil
Step-by-Step
1
Once you have the cachapa batter, add 3 curadas of sugar, a pinch of salt, and 200 ml of milk to the mixture. Then mix the batter.
2
Once we have the structure where we’ll set up the fire to place the grill, we proceed to heat the budare. A budare is a metal iron skillet that’s handcrafted by our welders specifically for making arepas or cachapas. So it’s a kitchen item that’s always on our tables.
Next, we brush a little oil on the budare to keep the cachapa from sticking to the pan! Then we pour the cachapa batter onto the pan using a spoon, shape it into a round form, and spread the batter evenly across the pan.
3
Next, flip the cachapa so it cooks on the other side, being very careful not to let it burn.
4
Next, we’ll grill the chops, as you can see!
We’ll need to flip them over so they cook evenly!
And there you have it—this delicious dish of cachapa with pork chop and Llanero cheese. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much for everything! Best regards and blessings.
Ingredientes:
- Masa de maiz tierno molido para Cachapa
- Azucar
- sal
- Leche
- Chuleta de cerdo
- Mantequilla llanera
- Aceite
Paso a Paso
1
Saludos y bendiciones.
