French Meringue is the most basic of the 3 different types of meringue and the least stable until baked. It is a sweet heavenly alternative to all those other heavy, sugary, buttery cookies;

Im gonna teach you on how to make them. its pretty easy and all you need are 2 main ingredients.

Ingredients:

4 egg whites
2 1/4 cups of confectioner' sugar.

Direction:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 95 degrees celsius. butter and flour baking sheet.

  2. In a bowl, whip egg whites until foamy using an electric mixer, gradually add the sugar. keep mixing until the mixture becomes stiff and shiny like satin.

  3. transfer the mixture to a large pastry bag. Pipe the meringue out onto the prepared baking sheet using a large round tip.

  4. Place the meringues in the oven and place a wooden spoon handle in the door to keep it from closing all the way. Bake for 3 hours, or until the meringues are dry, and can easily be removed from the baking sheet. Allow cookies to cool before storing in an airtight container at room temperature.

Tips for Whipping Egg Whites:

For maximum volume, it is important to keep your egg whites and all of your equipment as free from fat as possible. This means no grease in your mixing bowl and no drips of egg yolk in the whites.

What should you do if a bit of yolk ends up in your whites? Try to fish the yolk out as best as possible. A tiny drip of yolk probably won't keep your whites from whipping, but it may take longer to do so.

and once your meringue is done you can add whatever you want for presentation :)
