So I thought it would be a good idea to make some Christmas cookies since the holidays are approaching and I came across this Easy Chocolate Crinkles Christmas Cookie.
I followed the recipe below (except I substituted the veggie oil for sunflower kind and slightly reduced the amount of sugar) but the cookies didn't turn out the way they were supposed to look for some reason.
As you can see in the pictures they are hardly crinkled, which is strange. The taste is fine, I haven't had this kind of cookies before so I cannot really tell what they should taste like other than being chocolaty haha.
I don't think I am gonna make them again though. Or perhaps I should just give another recipe a try.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
- Mix together all ingredients except the powdered sugar
- Chill dough at least 4 hours, preferably overnight
- Roll dough into balls about 1 1/2 inches wide
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar
- Place cookie dough on greased cookie sheet (or use parchment paper on cookie sheet, they have a tendency to stick!)
- Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes
- Let cool 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing with a spatula to a cooling rack.
- makes 3 dozen cookies
