Today, when the emergency has dropped in level to become many of a "different kind” and the majority resume their routine, an overwhelming silence full of fear and orphanhood to those who lost everything.
True love should NOT be an impulse of a couple of days; it should be constant. Besides, he doesn't need cameras, or applause, or big displays of vainglory. True support is lived in the subtle, in the genuine, in the plate of hot food or actions that nourish integral well-being and remind them that they are not alone
There have been many unsung heroes who I hope will not faint their purpose of serving. May they continue to be where it is needed most, embracing our people through food and dignity.
Friends, the fury of the beginning cannot cease. Venezuela continues to need us united today, tomorrow and for as long as it takes to rebuild every home and recover every hope. May our routine not become apathy or forgetfulness. Let's take care of others, let's reach out to the neighbor, and so we remain present.
Because when the accompaniment is real, together we get up in this stage of reconstruction, to know in what way we feel we can be more useful as a community. It is necessary that we maintain donations and active long-term support by visiting and emotionally accompanying the affected families.
Supporting brands and causes that help in a silent and real way. Especially the urgent attention for the mental health of our children and adolescents after a catastrophe, health that can never depend on improvisation, nor on the exclusive use of informal volunteering.
After the earthquakes that occurred, although the solidarity of the community is deeply valuable, psychosocial support in childhood requires continuity, rigor and the construction of a secure bond.
When a volunteer takes care of an affected child, gets him to express his vulnerable emotions and the next day he does not return due to personal commitments, he fractures that bond all at once, causing severe and permanent emotional damage to the child's mind.
The death of loved ones and much admired prompted me to commit to cultivating courage with heart to co-create what I want in my life and to continue loving above all darkness, crisis and disappointment.
Healing the soul of my country is a collective process between mental health, the solidarity union to keep calm and hope, in days, weeks that are very difficult.
The first days after the tragedy thousands of souls said present helping and showing a great solidarity that became a trend. But what happens or what will happen weeks later? What will happen when the news changes the subject and those affected are left alone with their absences and the difficult task of rebuilding their lives from scratch?
