Sometimes they believe that the solution comes with a Harley-Davidson, and a strong, muscular and younger girlfriend or boyfriend... Will it be?...
My friends at Hive, today I want to share a reflection that can help you a lot to better understand what happens to some men and women after fifty something.... What I share from my experience because I have also gone through this stage of life.
Just as we go through physical, hormonal and emotional changes, they, our men, also go through important transformations.
The difference is that many men have not learned to talk about what they feel, suffer, suffer, much less to recognize their own vulnerabilities, and weaknesses, and we women talk more about the account, about it.
There are a lot of men and women who do not accept their biological reality.and they don't mentally prepare for when that time comes. In fact, it is not easy. Because one day you wake up from the matrix and you just want to start really living and then you're the Bad Guy, or the bad girl in the movie, and we go into crisis.
When a man or a woman who always felt strong, confident and capable begins to experience changes that he or she does not understand, he or she can enter a stage of profound confusion.
Sometimes that discomfort manifests itself as irritability, estrangement, dissatisfaction or a sudden need to change everything. And there is no shortage of those who believe that the solution comes with a Harley-Davidson and a new girlfriend, and in the case of us women an ultra-strong and virile younger guy.
鈥嶣ut behind some of these behaviors there may be something much more complex: the fear of getting older, of losing relevance, of ceasing to feel wanted or of discovering that the life we used to know is changing.
Understanding what is happening to our partner does not mean justifying any behavior, much less accepting decisions that hurt us. It means recognizing that we do not always know how to correctly interpret what the other is experiencing.
I am convinced that one of the great tasks of mature love is to learn to accompany each other in the transformations without assuming that every change of the other is necessarily a rejection towards us, my husband and I for 48 years of marriage are still experiencing the changes. We have seen these changes, in particular mood, and other little things, realizing that our changes are real, normal, at our chronological ages even when we exercise body, memory, mind and spirit every day.
After fifty-something we not only have to learn to live with a new version of ourselves. We also have to learn to know the new versions of the people we love. 鉂わ笍
