Sometimes the opinions of others create moments in life that break us in two and we will never be the person we were before living them, this happens when something that we believed deeply true for some circumstance stopped being true.

I think few things confront us as much as discovering that we were looking at our own life from the wrong perspective.

That there were signs that we did not know how to interpret, truths that we did not want to recognize or people to whom we attributed qualities that perhaps they never had. And guilt appears: how was it that I didn't realize? Today I want to tell you something, I have done, I have wanted, and dreamed, everything I have dared to do, therefore, we cannot demand from the person we were yesterday the understanding we have today.

It is very easy to look back with the information we now know and judge our decisions, our hopes and even our naivety. The difficult thing is to have enough compassion to recognize that, at that moment, we were doing what we could with what we knew, with what we felt and with what we needed to believe, attending to the opinions and intrusions of others.

That's why there are experiences that change us so much. Because they not only change what we think about others, but also what we understand about ourselves. They force us to review our expectations, our limits, our needs and even the reasons why we did things that we don't understand today.
