Hi everyone, what an honor it is for me to start the day with my workout. Yesterday I did speed intervals: 8 x 200 meters with 200 meters of active recovery. I set out with my wife toward Los Molinos Park, a place we love for its peaceful atmosphere. After arriving at the park, we headed back toward the stadium, completing my 2-kilometer warm-up along the way, accompanied by some dynamic movements to properly prepare my body.
I have to admit that I hadn’t done any speed work in several weeks, and although I was a little unsure of how my body would respond, I felt really great. I managed to maintain a steady pace between 4:05 and 4:25 minutes per kilometer during the repetitions, which filled me with motivation and confidence to keep improving.
What I enjoyed most was the feeling of power and control over my stride technique. Despite the effort, there were moments when I simply let myself be carried away by the rhythm and my breathing, enjoying that special balance you achieve when mind and body are in sync. Plus, sharing this workout with my wife made the whole experience even more special; having company always helps keep me motivated and get through any moments of fatigue.
Workouts like this remind me that progress isn’t always linear—that you have to be patient and listen to your body. Today was a good day to feel strong and energized.
