Recorriendo el casco histórico de Pampatar en la Isla de Margarita [ESP-ENG]

Hola amigos de @hivemargarita, espero estén pasando un excelente fin de semana.

Hace pocos días en casa nos despertamos con el deseo de ir a Pampatar para ver el hermoso barloventeo de las embarcaciones. Queríamos ir temprano con calma y disfrutar de un día diferente.

Nuestra aventura comenzó tempranito al terminar el entrenamiento de mi hijo, entonces nos fuimos recorriendo las calles de Pampatar. Me encanta pasear por allí, es de mis sectores favoritos en la Isla después de la Asunción. Sus vías empedradas y estrechas tienen ese encanto colonial que atrae de inmediato.

En nuestro recorrido pasamos frente al Palacio Municipal, contemplando su fachada clásica que se mantiene muy bien cuidada con el paso del tiempo.

A solo unos pasos, pudimos ver la hermosa Iglesia del Cristo del Buen Viaje y luego continuamos el camino hacia el Castillo de San Carlos de Borromeo, cuyos muros de piedra son un monumento increíble a nuestra tradición.

Desde allí pudimos notar con mucha alegría los trabajos de remodelación en la Bahía de Pampatar. Que bueno es ver que están mejorando y embelleciendo los espacios de la playa y el muelle para el disfrute de todos.

Después de este hermoso recorrido por el casco central, empezamos a subir con entusiasmo hacia el mirador de Pampatar, el lugar perfecto y más bello para admirar la actividad que veníamos a buscar.

Desde allí arriba pudimos presenciar el tradicional barloventeo en todo su esplendor. Es un espectáculo bellísimo ver cómo los peñeros y botes maniobran con tanta destreza en contra del viento, bailando sobre el agua de la bahía. Desde esa altura privilegiada, las diferentes playas del pueblo se ven preciosas. Definitivamente, Pampatar es un lugar súper hermoso y especial.

Y así terminó nuestra aventura, regresamos a casa felices por haber disfrutado de nuestra isla de una forma tan bonita y tan sencilla. Amigos gracias por leer mi post. Saludos y Bendiciones.

A few days ago, we woke up at home wanting to go to Pampatar to see the beautiful sight of the boats on the windward side. We wanted to go early, take our time, and enjoy a different kind of day.

Our adventure began early in the morning after my son’s practice ended, so we set out to explore the streets of Pampatar. I love walking around there—it’s one of my favorite areas on the island, right after La Asunción. Its narrow, cobblestone streets have that colonial charm that draws you in right away.

On our walk, we passed by City Hall, admiring its classic façade, which has been very well maintained over the years.

Just a few steps away, we saw the beautiful Church of Cristo del Buen Viaje, and then we continued on our way to the Castle of San Carlos de Borromeo, whose stone walls stand as an incredible monument to our tradition.

From there, we were delighted to see the renovation work underway in Pampatar Bay. It’s wonderful to see that they’re improving and beautifying the beach and pier areas for everyone to enjoy.

After this lovely tour of the historic center, we eagerly began our climb to the Pampatar lookout—the perfect and most beautiful spot to take in the activity we’d come to see.

From up there, we were able to witness the traditional “barloventeo” in all its splendor. It’s a breathtaking sight to see how the “peñeros” and small boats maneuver so skillfully against the wind, dancing on the water of the bay. From that privileged vantage point, the town’s various beaches look absolutely gorgeous. Pampatar is definitely a stunning and special place.

And so our adventure came to an end; we returned home happy to have enjoyed our island in such a beautiful and simple way. Friends, thank you for reading my post. Greetings and blessings.
