Land ahoy!

I went for a walk yesterday; I’m not all that close to the sea.

However, when I spotted it—like a pirate—I set out to capture the "C"-line cruise ship.

I wonder if it’s bigger or smaller than the sunken Titanic. I wonder if there would be enough of those eye-catching yellow lifeboats for everyone in the event of a collision.

A single click won't sink it—though we’ve seen disasters involving ships stranded in the desert sands alongside the Suez Canal, or the spectacle of that one in the calm Adriatic.

The truth is, I didn't reach for a spyglass to identify the flag flown by the vessel—which, in the end, I let sail on.

Vacation? Just to be contrary, I’m heading to the mountains.
