Most of the internet is a feed. You scroll past people, but you rarely spend any time with them.
Today we're opening something different on liketu: meet. Pick a place, bring people in, and talk out loud as your avatar, in a 3D venue everyone shares.
To show it off we made a short film, shot entirely inside meet: two very British hosts, a yurt, the Colosseum, the UN and a red packet hunt.
Pick where you meet
There are 14 places, and every one is a real 3D venue: a fireside Mongolian yurt, a Roman colosseum, a Shakespeare stage, an imperial Chinese court, a Vienna court, Westminster, the UN General Assembly, St Peter's Square, the Greek agora, a HIVE town hall and more.
Pick one when you start a room and write your agenda on its board. The room takes on the mood of the place.
Talk out loud, or just react
Hosts and speakers take the mic, and anyone can raise a hand to ask for it. Everyone else reacts: hearts, fire, claps and laughs pop up over your avatar, and it can wave, clap, cheer, dance or jump for the whole room.
Look around the venue, or switch to first person and see the room through your avatar's eyes.
Read along in your language
Everything said out loud is captioned as it's spoken. Pick from 20 languages and the captions follow in yours, while every voice stays as it is.
Next to the stage there's a text chat for the room. We call it the troll box. Hosts can pin a message, slow it down, or remove what doesn't belong.
Every word, on chain
When a room ends, the host can publish it to Hive as a replay post on their own blog. It credits every speaker, lists the room's chapters, and carries the full transcript: who said what, and when. Long rooms continue in replies under the post.
The host keeps 95% of the post's rewards; 5% supports liketu. Speakers agree to the transcript going on chain before they take the mic. A room can also become a podcast episode on liketu Speak.
Lucky Packet Hunts 🧧
Hosts can fill a pot of HBD or HIVE and hide it around the venue in red packets. When the countdown ends, everyone who joined the hunt goes looking (hold Shift to run), and whatever you open lands in your Hive wallet.
Meet from anywhere
meet runs on the web at liketu.net/meet, and in the liketu app for Android. Same room, same people.
