From the four corners to this crossroads

Perhaps no eternal traveler, traveling from Vicente L贸pez to Palermo and wanting to get off at the Los Colegiales station, will ever cross this corner again.

An executor of a dreamed-of future in the slumbering present, trying to straighten the twisted thread of temporal chaos. What references can guide him? The yellow facade of La Parrillita is gone; before we know it, another tower of glass balconies will rise, holding real estate ads or Airbnb listings on this corner.

Perhaps you'll notice the carousel's canopy, still trapped in a bubble of a bygone era, barely remembered by the elderly who no longer cross the footbridge under the train tracks. The horses stand still, no longer turning, trapped, dreaming of the shouts and laughter of the past, while they wait to return, recycled, to the pampas or the mountains.

Spicy Mexican mole, softened for the delicate palate, with extraordinary discounts for cash payments. There are probably also discounts between Tuesday and Thursday when you swipe certain cards or use the app with the purple mangoes for higher cashback. And if you don't like spicy food, almost next door you'll find two unique bars offering a variety of mushrooms, I imagine only for food, and a few steps away a tofu bar. The truth is, I've never been inside any of them and I usually walk to the next corner to cross from Caf茅 Mart铆nez to the ice cream shop across the street.

On this side, where the train to Constituci贸n stops, is the most surprising street vendor. Among the mate gourds and straws, he offers herbs to flavor the mate and some sweets I've never seen before.

I asked him one day when I bought a lighter for the kitchen, and he calmly explained that it was dog treats.

A crossroads in a quiet neighborhood, frequented by locals, that becomes cosmopolitan when you look closer. The mate vendor comes from the land of the beloved sun, and next to him, beside the cake vendor, the Slavic market sets up with its sauerkraut and craft beer.

From the shores of the Caribbean Sea and the Siberian steppe, we cross paths here, not knowing where the wind will take us tomorrow.
