Hey guys!! Thanks for stopping by today!
We got up this morning to roast a pound of coffee for our sweet lady Barb and her husband Larry that runs the soundboard when we lead at church. We ran out of time last night, so it required it to happen this morning. After that, it was off to church!
The sermon was good, the fellowship good, and afterwards, we headed home for a coffee and a bite of lunch. Then it was off to the store for groceries and whatnot. It’s been 2+ weeks since we had been to Bellingham, and today, I found I didn’t miss going. Folks tend to basically run you over, whether it’s traffic, shopping carts or folks just wandering aimlessly not paying attention to where they are walking! It can be a bit frustrating.
Once that was done, we headed back home and after some garlic bread, worked on music for next Sunday’s service. It’s been pretty much just Mike and I and one other gal who sings backup. This coming week, Jan will rejoin (or I’m hoping she will). The bass guitar is still broken at this point, so I dragged my keyboard out and we set out to practice. Then…….I got an idea. I started playing around with the keyboard (it has an orchestra in it, lol) and was able to find a drum kit beat and could control the tempo. So, we plugged it into the amp and started working on the first two songs. It was so cool! A completely drum kit while I played the keyboard and Mike play his guitar. Awesome!!! We are going to see if we might can pull this off this coming weekend. If so, great. If not, it’s good practice for some time in the future. I am excited!!
Tomorrow is normally an off day for me, but with my coworker on vacation, I’m working all week. So, no sleeping in nor getting caught up on anything else, lol! Oh well…….
