Tuesday is ladies’ Bible study. We are studying women of the Bible with today’s subject being Rebekah. We didn’t finish and plan to wrap up next week before moving on to the next one. It’s a bit of a different approach as compared to all of the studies I’ve done with this group over the past 11 years. I’m hoping it gets a little more in depth as we go along. I’m sure it will get more interesting as we progress.
I came home and spent a little time in the sunshine on the garden swing. I’m sure this beautiful fall weather will not last forever, so I’ll take all the days like today, I can get for sunbeams. 🌞🌞🌞
I had a couple of storage tubs to sort through, so I did that outside using the pickup trucks’ tailgate as a table. Then I went on a photo walk around the property.
We have about 3 Japanese Maples. I’m going to show 2 of them. The first being the Beni Maiko.
This tree was planted just under the overhang of a Western red Cedar tree. The first year, half of it died, but it’s made a comeback and is one of the first things I see when I pull in the driveway. It’s currently such a brilliant shade of crimson red and orange that’s it’s hard to notice anything else!
Then, there’s the Bloodgood Japanese Maple.
It’s more of a burgundy-red but brilliant of its own right, nonetheless.
So very pretty! We planted them specifically for the fall colors, however, the offer beautiful color all spring, summer and fall!
I’m thinking we might diversify some and get a couple different varieties of deciduous trees that offer spectacular fall colors.
One last shot of the area near our fire pit. Not a huge color area but some amazing Big Leaf Maple trees.
That’s gonna be it for me. Tomorrow is ‘Monday’ at work for me. Hoping for a productive and short week!

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O Death, is your victory?
Where, O Death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
