Hello, friends especially foodies!

Today is the day when Chinese all over the world celebrate mooncake festival or also known as the mid autumn festival, well I don’t know much about it but I remember it identically celebrated with mooncake, sweet cake usually with the egg yolk in the middle. The taste of it usually sweet, I don’t like much sweet and I prefer pudding than cakes, so last weekend I tried to make this mooncake pudding. Now I would like to share about it, so let’s go!

Cooking Time:

around 3.5 hours in total
with waiting time until each kind of the pudding well done was a day each.

Serving portion:

4 pieces of each around 8 cm diameter pudding

Ingredients:

For the egg yolk pudding:

  • 85 grams Instant pudding powder in mango flavour (or might be less)
  • The quail eggs ice cube maker
  • 250 ml water

For the white milk pudding:

  • 5 grams plain instant jelly powder
  • 2.25 grams plain agar-agar (gelatin) powder
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 300 ml Full Cream UHT plain milk

For the chocolate pudding (cook two times, same ingredients):

  • 2 grams plain agar-agar (gelatin) powder
  • 3.75 grams plain instant jelly powder
  • 10 grams sugar
  • 300 ml chocolate milk

How I made it:

1ST

At first I made the mango egg yolk pudding, I put the mango pudding powder on the pan then I put 250 ml of water then I stirred them together.

Next I turned on the stove and started to stir it again. Stirred then left it, stirred it again until it was perfectly blended.

3RD

I stirred it again then, it started to gulp. The pudding dough was ready. I put them in the quail egg pattern.

Then I left it all night long. Now what I needed to do was making the white pudding. To start I measured the ingredients then put them in the pan, they were the gelatin and jelly powder.

5TH

Next, I also put on the sugar in it, stirred well then I also put the plain milk.

6TH

Then I turned on the stove, stirred it well then left it, stirred it well until it gulped and boiled.

7TH

After that I put on the white pudding dough to the flowers plastic cups, I only put ¼ of it, then after it dried well, I put on the mango pudding in the center then closed it with the white pudding dough again.

8TH

I put them in the fridge after I left it around an hour or two, and next day I made the chocolate pudding. For this chocolate pudding I put on the plain jelly, gelatin and also the sugar.

9TH

Also I put on the chocolate milk in it. Stirred it and left, stirred it again until it well boiled. Then I put them in the plastic cups that had the shape of mooncakes, I put only ¼ of them.

10TH

Oh no the chocolate pudding dough was not enough so I cooked the same way and same amount one more time, this also made the ¼ of the pudding hardened (what I wanted).

11TH

There you go, I put on the hot chocolate boiled pudding dough to all (the 1st one was a bit messy cause I used the cold dough I made first, sorry for this).

THE RESULT

I must wait a day long to chill them in the fridge.

Voila, this is it..

Mooncake special pudding by me, it had the sweet flavour but it wasn’t to sweet as I had expected. The chocolate pudding tasted best with real chocolate flavour, the milky pudding tasted lighter and the mango egg yolk pudding brought extra freshness. Anyway I forgot that I also made the white bunny milky pudding too, lol, so then I put it on the plate later. Well this pudding was the best one i ever tried!

Wanna try this at your home too?
