It's good to be sharing my thoughts with you all on blog and I hope you will stay glued and enjoy every bit of it.
Today, I will be sharing some unpopular opinions that may cause a controversy due to individual differences. In other words, the thoughts I'm going to be sharing are my personal opinions and you don't necessarily have to totally agree with me. In fact, I would like to know in the comments the ones you agree and disagree with. I guess that will make it an interesting one.
The first one is about friendship. It is not every friendship that needs to last forever. Life is in stages and as a result of this phases of our lives we meet different people who are only going to be a part of that part of our life. It will get to a stage where factors like growth, distance and the likes will step in and two friends have to grow apart. If you look back you'd realise that this has happened in different phases of your life from when you made your first friend till now. Those precious memories you created with your friend need to be appreciated and remembered for good. It is not every friendship that ends that can be categorised as a bad one - it is just how life is. However, some few friendship may last for life in very rare circumstances.
Next, it does not mean that something is better because it is expensive. There is general belief that it is automatically better because it is expensive and it is not totally true. I will share few thoughts on this issue. I can say that I was surprised some years back when I discovered some secrets of some businesses. Do you know that most vendors go to an open local market to purchase their goods and package them for sale in an office, supermarket and so on. For instance, there are some fabrics, food items, kiddies and adults wears etc that are being sold at giveaway prices at weekly markets in most locations, these products will be bought by someone who has a shop and automatically the price will change (more expensive). Does the increase in price changes the quality of the product? No! Most times you're paying for branding and ambience.
Another unpopular opinion is that you're not necessarily productive just because you're busy. You can be busy doing nothing. There are people who are busy from morning until night and they may accomplish little or nothing. I have once heard that the people that walk around in an office with a notepad looking stressed with a straight face moving here and there like they are going in and out of an urgent meeting are just acting busy to impress their superior or colleagues. People that does not understand the gimmicks will indeed assume that they are actually busy and productive.
Productivity should be measured by what you're able to get done at a particular time and not only by how exhausted or stressed you look.
One of the things I cherish most in life is my peace of mind. Peace is sometimes a better option that being right. There are situations when the best decision you can make for your sanity is to opt out of an argument. You don't necessarily have to win all arguments. There are conversations you don't need to continue once you have decoded the reasoning level of the other person and you know it's not worth your energy. This is simply because there are people you can never convince - they will be wrong and they will still speak with full confidence trying to buttress a wrong point. The best thing is to simply let them know that they have rights to their opinion and exit the conversation.
This brings me to the last but not the least point that has to do with not feeling guilty about saying no. Saying 'no' is choosing yourself and respecting your person and what you represent. You don't have to feel bad that you say no to someone when you know deep down that it is the best decision for you. We often say 'yes' because we don't want to hurt the feeling of others and on the long run we hurt ourselves.
