There are times in which I turn hours doing something I don't really need to do. Sometimes I watch a video, scroll over my phone or do absolutely nothing because I'm tired. There's nothing wrong with taking a break, but I noticed that there's a big difference between resting to get some energy back and losing more than hours of my life I didn't even realize.
I desire to be a person who values time. I have dreams and aspirations that I desire to accomplish, and I understand that all the small bits count, whether it be reading, writing, working, attending to the things that I have to do, or spending quality time with my loved ones.
All in all though, I still recognize that productive does not require me to fill all my hours with clutter. Sometimes, resting and reflecting, praying or just enjoying the glory of the small, simple things are the most productive things I can do with my time. We all need moments when we can breathe.
The question is not whether I am too busy, but whether I am too busy doing the things I want to do. You can be very busy all day long and do very little in the process. Conversely, you can take a few meaningful steps toward a goal and use your time more effectively.
I am responsible for, my hobbies, and sleep. There have been days that I could have done better, but I do not want to berate myself over the time that I have already wasted. I want to learn from those days and make better decisions tomorrow.
Once it's gone, time is never coming back. And that's the main reason I want to be more intentional with how I spend my time. I may not be able to be productive every single day, but I want to be able to look back on my life and know I tried to make the most of it.
