Hi, friends! Today I want to share with you what I had for lunch—it was delicious. I absolutely love beef, but it’s a bit expensive in my country, so I don’t buy it very often. I usually buy chicken because it’s more affordable and goes a lot further. That’s why buying this cut of meat is something I do only once in a while, but I really enjoy cooking it—and especially eating it. I like to sauté it with vegetables, though to be honest, that’s the only way I’ve learned to prepare it so far. I’ve seen this type of meat used in more elaborate dishes, and I’m really curious about it—I’d love to try it someday.
My mom always taught me that you have to tenderize the meat, so I always tap it a few times on the cutting board before seasoning it—though, to be honest, after trying this meat, I realized I didn’t even need to do that because it really turned out very tender. After tenderizing the meat, I transferred it to a container where I would start adding flavor: first, I added Worcestershire sauce and garlic sauce, then marinade and salt.
I also added a little pepper, and something else I like to add is mustard. Then I mix everything together and let it sit while I heat up the skillet.
I put the meat on to cook and check on it and turn it every so often. While the meat is cooking, I start chopping the vegetables I want to add—in this case, red bell pepper, tomato, red onion, and garlic—which I add near the end of the cooking process so they don’t burn.
And all that's left is to serve it with the rest of the meal. At my house, we almost always eat rice with fried plantains, and honestly, it was a delicious lunch—the meat was super tender and juicy, and it tasted really, really good.
