I've been really looking forward to the weekend so I can rest, but today has actually been exhausting—I've been working pretty hard and my body is really tired, so this afternoon I decided to go out for a bit, at least to get some ice cream and breathe in some fresh air. My mood has been pretty up and down these past few days, so even though I wanted to go out when I was getting dressed, I lost the desire—I just wanted to lie down and sleep. But I’d already promised my son I’d take him to get his ice cream, and besides, it’s pretty close to home.
The sky looked beautiful today even though it was very hot; the blue of the sky seemed unreal, as did the fluffy clouds.
We left in the afternoon around 4 p.m. for our favorite ice cream shop—which, by the way, we hadn’t visited in a while since the economic situation isn’t what it used to be and, obviously, ice cream prices have gone up terribly. On the way, I took pictures of the sky and the flowers, and even though we weren’t far away, it felt like the trip took forever.
As always, the ice cream and service were great, and I was surprised to see that they have new items on the menu—though they’re quite expensive since they’re a bit more elaborate and have many more ingredients. It’s really a blow to the wallet when you’re on a tight budget, so I couldn’t try anything new.
On the way home, we saw this spider, and even though it scared me to death and made me feel sick (I have arachnophobia), I couldn’t pass up the chance to take a picture of it. When I got a good look at it, I got really scared because I saw it had a white spot on its body, but after doing a little research on Google, I read that this spider is called a silver spider and that part of its body is actually that color, while another part is white, as if the color had faded. It’s not dangerous or poisonous, but still, every time I see the photo, it gives me chills and makes me feel really disgusted—though I have to admit that I find the shape of spiders and their different patterns and colors beautifully macabre.
And that's how my Saturday went—I took my mind off things for a while, but once I got back home, I started feeling depressed and in a bad mood again, hahaha. Let's hope it's just a passing phase and not another weeks-long depressive episode.
