This video showcases the Filipino Traditional way of cooking using wood and clay stove. This edition of traditional wood fire cooking features one of the simplest yet tastiest dishes the Ilocanos have to offer, GINISANG UPO or SAUTEED BOTTLE GOURD. This dish is straightforward, it only has two main ingredients, Bottle Gourd and Tomatoes. And since it is a straightforward dish it is also so simple and easy to cook. Check the video out.

Ingredients of Ginisang Upo (Sauteed Bottle Gourd)

  • 800 grams bottle of gourd
  • 180 grams of tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small white onion (you can use red onion)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) to taste (optional)
