The forest for the trees……..
I’ve heard that saying most of my life-you can’t see the forest for the trees. Most of the time, that refers to not being able to see what’s plainly in front of you.
I live in the forest. I can say that it’s beautiful but………do I really see it? At times, I’ll say yes. But life comes at us so fast that often we miss the beauty that’s right in front of us. Take this next picture……
See how tall; how straight up they are? But do we always see the simplistic beauty this picture captures? Nope!
This next picture is often called a ‘wedding tree’ as two are joined as one.
Or, how about the ‘octopus’ like reach of this tree?
Interesting 🧐 Trees give us oxygen, cleanse the air and offer sanctuary for wildlife. They are quite amazing……….
…..especially when you know this tree came from a tiny little seed, quite possibly 100 years ago or more! Somehow, it didn’t get trampled on, mowed down, sacrificed for a building lot, logged for a house or even destroyed by a wildfire! If it could only talk, imagine what it might say!
They fall in the forest as well. How loud is it? Only as loud as someone can hear. This old growth cedar lived a long time, but now provides surfaces for other life as well as nutrients for the soil plus maybe a bit of habitat for insects and small creatures. Not to mention it’s quite nice to look at with the creek flowing by!
That’s gonna be it for now. I hope you enjoyed a closer look at the forest! Take care and enjoy the weekend! 🙏🇮🇱🇺🇦
