Hello beer lovers! π» π π»
I'm here again, but why? I can't miss #beersaturday, today is the 245th in a row, and I feel like I'm already part of the inventory :) π
I think this is the oldest contest on the Hive blockchain. If you find any older ones, please let me know.
And of course, Hive!
It's been jumping up and down a bit lately, I suppose that's good for those who trade daily. Well, I'm just a hodler so I don't get upset about it.
Even today I have two cans, one Slovenian, and one English.
First, the one with less alcohol.
Time 5 o'clock Blonde Ale
Brewed by Time Brewery, Radlje ob Dravi, Slovenia.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV. It's Blonde Ale style, well-hoped, with less malt and usually lower alcohol.
What do the Master Brewers say?
An unfiltered and unpasteurized pale beer, sunny in color, created for afternoons and moments when a lighter beer with a lower alcohol level and a soft body is more suitable. Pleasant hop aromas with a tropical touch combine nicely with malts roasted at lower temperatures.
I have already tasted 8 o'clock by Time Brewery a month ago and it was not bad at all. Since it's the afternoon, this one will do just fine.
The beer is a mild cloudy yellow color, the head is considerable and creamy. It smells very hoppy. The sip goes smoothly down the throat, the pleasant hop bitterness is pronounced but not distracting, and the discreet tropical lemon aromas in the background accompany it, there's no malt.
In the aftertaste, the bitterness slowly disappears.
A refreshing, very fine beer, just right for a sleepy Saturday afternoon. It's available in local shops as a 6-pack (2x 3,5, and 8 o'clock).
The price is reasonable (just over 1β¬), maybe it will become a regular in my fridge.
Today is the time for memes :)
If it's not funny you can complain! π€£
Vocation Divide & Conquer New England Pale
Brewed by Vocation Brewery, Cragg Vale, West Yorkshire, England.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.0 % ABV. It's a Pale Ale - Hazy style, with dominant hop bitterness and juicy tropical fruit flavors.
What do the Master Brewers say?
This is Divide & Conquer, our fearlessly hop-forward New England Pale that's not to be underestimated. Crushing blows of Mosaic and Simcoe hit hard with notes of pineapple, passionfruit, and pine. Expect dramatic waves of juiciness and a haze that won't quit.
My first experience with Vocation Brewery.
I don't know what to expect, but judging by the comments (Untapd, Ratebeer), something very good.
The beer is a cloudy yellow color, there's a lot of head but it's not persistent. It smells of hops but not strong. It goes down the throat smoothly, the bitterness of hops and grapefruit dominates, and there's also malt sweetness and peach in the background.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears except the bitterness, which is moderate.
Good and tasty beer. Comparing it with the previous one, the bitterness is a bit less, although it has more alcohol, I find it lighter and a shade sweeter. There is no other difference.
Both are decent, 'afternoon' beers. However, it's not available here unless you special order it from a specialist shop. So it won't be in my fridge... unless I come across it next time I'm in England.
What I am listening to as I write this and taste the beers? One new (to me) band that I mentioned in my last #newtunes post. Dark synthpop.
Kerala Dust - Moonbeam, Midnight, Howl
And now what?
I'm going to listen to two Croatian post-punk bands.
Maybe I'll have a beer...π!
