Anniversary Concert [Eng/Esp]

When celebrating becomes inevitable! That should be the title of this post, because the Sistema de Orquestas had every reason to organize a very special concert.

Cuando celebrar se hace inevitable! Ése debería ser el título de este post, pues sí o sí el Sistema de Orquestas tenía motivos suficientes para un organizar un concierto más que especial.

Happy #Motherhood daddies, I hope you had a great week. Today I want to share with you a really incredible experience on the occasion of several celebrations. First of all the 48 years of the National System of Orchestras and Choirs on the 12th of this month, as well as the Battle of Victory on the same day and of course the day of Love and Friendship on 14F, so El Sistema organized a series of concerts on the 14th and 15th to celebrate in style, with good music!

And yes, one day was not enough! Our center in La Asunción has grown so much that they had to split the presentations, both because they did not have enough space and because of how much the activity would be extended, since they have different musical programs ranging from orchestral, through choirs, Alma Oriental and the Musical Initiation Program. So everything was very well structured in two presentations.

Day 14, Orchestral Program, Choir and Oriental Soul and day 15, Music Initiation Program, consisting of Musical Kindergarten and three levels of Recorder. In addition to the special participation of the Cello and Double Bass Ensemble.

Feliz día papitos de #Motherhood, espero hayan tenido una excelente semana. El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia realmente increíble con motivo de varias celebraciones. En primer lugar los 48 años del Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y Coros el día 12 de éste mes, así como la Batalla de la Victoria el mismo día y por supuesto el día del Amor y la Amistad el 14F, por lo que El Sistema organizó una serie de conciertos los días 14 y 15 para celebrar así por todo lo alto, con buena música!

Y sí, un día no fue suficiente! Nuestro núcleo de La Asunción ha crecido tanto que tuvieron que optar por dividir las presentaciones, tanto por no disponer de espacios con capacidad suficiente como por lo mucho que se extendería la actividad, pues cuentan con distintos programas musicales que van desde el orquestal, pasando por coros, Alma Oriental y el Programa de Iniciación Musical. Así que todo quedó muy bien estructurado en dos presentaciones.

Día 14 Programa Orquestal, Coral y Alma Oriental y día 15, Programa de Iniciación a la Música, conformado por Kinder Musical y tres Niveles de Flauta Dulce. Además de contar con la participación especial del Ensamble de Violonchelos y Contrabajos.

Our girl Miranda although she has already started her violin lessons is still part of the Third Level of Recorder, so it would be her turn on the 15th together with all the members of the Introduction to Music Program, and as always, everything was a race against time, because being in evaluation week I could not miss classes and also at home I was immersed in the task of making 65 decorated cupcakes for the sharing of the children at the end of the concert.

So that day was very crazy, and to top it off my husband came home late with the kids and we couldn't have lunch. They grabbed a sandwich and we left for the concert less than half an hour after arriving home as they ask to be there at 1pm since the concert started at 2pm, but despite the rush or thanks to them we were on time!

Everything was in motion when we arrived at the Casa de la Cultura de La Asunción, where the concert was to be held. You could just see the children walking and practicing before the concert and a parade of instruments passed in front of me as I waited for the time.

A few minutes after our arrival and after some pictures Miranda's teacher called them to practice their song which would be the merengue Caminito de Guarenas by maestro Billo Frometa and just at two o'clock the concert started, super punctual, so with that I was already happy.

Nuestra niña Miranda aunque ya inició sus clases de violín aún forma parte del Tercer Nivel de Flauta Dulce, por lo que le correspondería el día 15 junto a todos los integrantes del Programa de Iniciación a la Música, y como siempre, todo fue una carrera contra el tiempo, pues al estar en semana evaluativa no podía faltar a clases y además en casa yo estaba sumergida en la tarea de elaborar 65 cupcakes decorados para el compartir de los niños al finalizar el concierto.

Así que ése día fue muy loco, y para completar mi esposo llego tarde a casa con los niños y no pudimos almorzar. Tomaron un sándwich y nos fuimos al concierto a menos de media hora de haber llegado a casa pues piden estar a la 1pm ya que el concierto iniciaba a las 2pm, pero a pesar de las carreras o gracias a ellas llegamos a tiempo!

Todo estaba en movimiento al momento de llegar a la Casa de la Cultura de La Asunción, lugar donde sería el concierto. Se podía ver apenas entrar a los niños caminando y practicándo antes de iniciar el concierto y un desfile de instrumentos pasaba delante de mí mientras esperaba la hora.

A los pocos minutos de nuestra llegada y después de algunas fotografías la profesora de Miranda las llamó para practicar su tema que sería el merengue Caminito de Guarenas del maestro Billo Frometa y justo a las dos en punto inició el concierto, súper puntual, así que con eso ya estaba feliz.

The concert started with the little ones. The children of Kinder Musical who presented, besides rhythmic exercises, the Comedian's Galop, a super fun piece because accompanied by wooden sticks to mark the rhythm, mimics and movements, they interpreted to perfection everything they learned in class.

They were followed by the children of the First Level of Flute, who performed the scales of C and F Major. For their part, the Second Level demonstrated their great progress performing "Frere Jaques " better known by our children as "La Lechuza ".

For the turn of the Third Level, as I already mentioned, they played the merengue Caminito de Guarenas that ended up encouraging everyone present to sing to the rhythm of the flutes played by our children.

And finally the highlight of the afternoon.... The Cello and Double Bass Ensemble that delighted us with some incredible presentations that went through a Popurri of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, in addition to interpreting the theme of the famous series Game of Thrones and the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. It was definitely amazing! I don't know if for others it was as great as it was for me, but these were tunes that in a way are part of my life and that took me to remember special moments.

El concierto dió inicio con los más pequeños. Los niños de Kinder Musical quienes presentaron aparte de ejercicios rítmicos, la Comedian's Galop, una pieza súper divertida pues acompañados de palitos de madera para marcar el ritmo, mimicas y movimientos interpretaron a la perfección todo lo aprendido en clases.

Les siguieron los niños del Primer Nivel de Flauta, a quienes les correspondió realizar las escalas de Do y Fa Mayor. Por su parte el Segundo Nivel demostró sus grandes avances interpretando "Frere Jaques" mejor conocida por nuestros niños como "La Lechuza".

Para el turno del Tercer Nivel, como ya les comenté, tocaron el merengue Caminito de Guarenas que terminó animando a todos los presentes a cantar al ritmo de las flautas interpretadas por nuestros niños.

Y finalmente el broche de oro de la tarde... El Ensamble de Violonchelos y Contrabajos que nos deleitó con unas increíbles presentaciones que se pasearon por un Popurri del Rey del Pop Michael Jackson, además de interpretar el tema de la famosa serie Juego de Tronos y de la Película Piratas del Caribe. Definitivamente fué increíble! No sé si para los demás fue tan genial como para mí, pero se trató de melodías que de cierta manera forman parte de mi vida y que me llevaron a recordar momentos especiales.

It was undoubtedly a magical evening. Seeing the progress of Mirabda who can read music quite well and handles her flute with great skill is very gratifying and although it is her transition instrument to the violin she loves and enjoys playing it very much.

I must say that this kind of things make me quite clear that doing everything we do to get our children to participate in activities that apart from being emotionally fulfilling because they are doing something they enjoy, help them in a great way to develop as a person is definitely worth any effort. So as long as it is within our reach we will be jumping from one place to another with them and accompanying them in these moments that are very special for them.

Sin lugar a dudas fue una tarde mágica. Ver los avances de Mirabda quien ya logra leer música bastante bien y maneja con mucha destreza su flauta es algo muy gratificante y aunque es su instrumento de transición al violín ella ama y disfruta mucho tocarla.

Debo decir que son éste tipo de cosas me dejan bastante claros que hacer todo lo que hacemos para que nuestros niños participen de actividades que aparte de llenarles emocionalmente porque hacen algo que disfrutan, les ayudan de gran manera a su desarrollo como persona definitivamente valen cualquier esfuerzo. Así que mientras esté a nuestro alcance estaremos brincando de un lado a otro con ellos y acompañandolos en éstos momentos que para ellos son muy especiales.
