Dhaba Style Brinjal Bharta !

So, We are here again on another Sunday, It's a day where we can do some creative tasks and share them with our Hive family.

We don't usually cook brinjal, because my little brother doesn't like to eat it. but today my father asked to cook it and we couldn't resist it. So, I and my wife cook this together. It was so yummy, It is a summer dish.


Ingredients


  • 1 Kg Brinjal
  • 4-5 Onions
  • 3-4 tomatoes
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic.
  • 5-6 Green Chillies
  • 1 Table Spoon Cumin
  • 1 TableSpoon Coriander
  • 1/2 TeaSpoon Turmeric Powder.
  • 1/2 TeaSpoon Red Chilli powder
  • Salt ( as per taste )
  • 300 ML Oil
  • 1 KG Yoghurt
  • 1/2 TeaSpoon Black Pepper Powder

Cooking Procedure


First of all, we will wash brinjals and will make 2-3 cuts on every brinjal as shown in the Picture. Then we will roast the brinjals on fire.

roast them until their outer skin turns black. when done___

we will dip brinjals in the water and peel off their burnt skin. this process will remove their bitterness.

after removing the burnt skin, we will take a cutting board and put all our brinjales on the cutting board. we will cut them and mash them with the knife.

The next step is to make Garlic & green Chilli paste as shown in the picture.

Now we will chop the onions in the hand chopper.

after chopping, put the onions on the plate to be used later.

Now we will take the cooking pot and add oil to it.

Now we will add cumin to the cooking pot and fry it for 1 minute on low flame.

Now we will add chopped onions.

after cooking for some time. we will add dry coriander.

Now we will bring the Garlic, and green chilli paste and add it to the cooking pot.

we will add the paste when the onions turn to light brown. Fry it for 1 minute.

Now we will cut the green chillies and tomatoes into small shapes.

we will add them to the cooking pot. we will cook them until the tomatoes become soft.

Now it's dry spices turn.

add them to the cooking pot and fry them for 1 minute.

now add the brinjal kept aside to the cooking pot. now we will cover the cooking pot and let it cook for 7-8 minutes on low flame on it's own.

Yoghurt is one of the main ingredients to eat with this dish, we will add salt and black pepper powder in the yoghurt and mix it well.

here is the final look of delicious-looking Brinjal Bharta.

Serve it with yoghurt.
